Talk on Kuvempu’s Literature

Mysuru:  Mysore Open Forum has organised a talk on Kuvempu’s Literature:Values & Relevance by Prof.N. Boralingaiah on Aug. 19 (Monday) at 6.15 pm at Kalpa Kshetra auditorium, Vijayanagar 4th Stage (Mob:9449819536).

K.V. Puttappa, well-known by the acronym Kuvempu, is without doubt one of the greats of Indian Literature. Influenced by Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Gandhiji among others, he turned out a wide range of literature including novels, plays, poems and essays. Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan title in 1958.

Prof. Boralingaiah is a retired professor of Kannada from the University of Mysore (UoM). He was appointed Visiting Professor, Kuvempu Chair by the Institute of Kannada Studies, UoM.

 A Gandhian to the core, Prof.Boralingaiah has authored many books under his Daarideepa Publications. Some of the titles are Kanuru Heggaditi Vivechane, Kadivana, Vachana Kattida Allama, Srujanasri. He will talk about Values and Relevance of Kuvempu’s writings. The event is open to all.
