Mysuru: Mysore Literary Association (MLA) has organised a talk on ‘The Universe and Us’ by Dr. H.S. Shivanna, Academician, at 11 am on Feb. 23 (Sunday) at Rotary West Hall in Saraswathipuram here.

Dr. Shivanna, a former member of the post-graduate Department of English Teaching Faculty at Manasagangothri, obtained his Doctorate from the University of Mysore. During his teaching career, he directed and produced several plays in English for the Department.

Founder-Member of Mysore Literary Association, he served as its Vice-President for a few years.  A practical, liberal and secular thinker with a thirst for knowledge in various spheres of learning and activity, he remains a keen participant in MLA.

Subject of his talk

Many new developments and discoveries have taken place regarding the vast universe and our planet Earth in recent years.

The speaker will dwell on the consequences and influences of these happenings.

He intends to elaborate on these aspects followed by a short power-point presentation to illustrate and highlight the issues.

There will be an interactive session after the talk, says MLA President Prof. K C. Belliappa.
