The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) in association with Sports Authority of Karnataka (SAK) will be conducting Taluk-level Dasara Sports in K.R. Nagar and Periyapatna on Sept. 16 and Sept. 18 respectively.
The Department has named Basketball coach B.S. Girish (99644-11709) and Deepak (99007-60363) as convenors for K.R. Nagar Taluk Dasara Sports. While Hockey coach R. Sundaresh (98444-87796) and N.D. Nagaraj (80730-37925) will be the convenors for Periyapatna Taluk Dasara Sports.
Events during Taluk Dasara Sports (for both men and women) include 100 mts sprint, 200 mts run, 400 mts run, 800 mts run, 1,500 mts run, 5,000 mts run, long jump, high jump, shot put, triple jump, javelin throw, discuss throw, 110 mts hurdles, 4×100 mts relay, volleyball, football, kho-kho and kabaddi, according to a press release.
