Proposes digital LED screens at designated locations for birthday and political wishes
Mysuru: Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait has condemned the stabbing of a Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Abhaya team worker while he was removing unauthorised banners in his Constituency.
“A duty-bound person was stabbed during a banner removal drive. I condemn the incident and call upon the Police to take strict action against those responsible,” he said.
Sait extended his support to the State Government’s move to make Mysuru a flex-free city and called for strict implementation of the directive by the civic authorities. At the same time, he suggested introducing a system of digital displays at designated locations.
MLA Tanveer Sait said, political supporters often put up flex hoardings to mark birthdays and special occasions, which, he noted, could create a negative impression of political leaders among the public.
Welcoming the Government’s flex-free initiative, he assured the MCC of his support in enforcing the ban across all Wards.
He suggested that the Corporation install digital LED screens at selected locations to meet the demand for public announcements and advertisements without adding to the visual clutter.
According to Sait, replacing static flex banners with digital displays could also provide a steady source of revenue for the Mysuru City Corporation while allowing political supporters and others to put up greetings and announcements.
