Tea shop owner killed in road accident

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a 43-year-old tea shop owner died of serious injuries after he rammed his bike into Hardinge Circle here last night.

The deceased has been identified as Srinivas, who owns a tea shop near Ramaswamy Circle and residing at Yeraganahalli in city.

Yesterday, at about 11.45 pm, Srinivas was on his way to his home via Gun House Circle and Dasara Exhibition Road on his Hero Honda Splendor bike (KA-55-K-2287) when he lost control of the bike and rammed it into the iron grills installed at Hardinge Circle.

This resulted in Srinivas getting injured seriously and bleeding profusely before losing conscious and lying in a pool of blood.

Soon, a large number of public gathered at the spot, not to shift the injured to the hospital, but to take pictures and videos of the injured Srinivas who was suffering from severe bleeding due to the crash, thus exhibiting their inhuman behaviour.

Meanwhile, Dr. Amithesh, Orthopaedic Surgeon at JSS Hospital, who was passing by, saw Srinivas in a pool of blood and shifted him in his car to JSS Hospital. But Srinivas died before the commencement of treatment, it is learnt.

Devaraja Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
