Mysuru: A 57-year-old teacher has reportedly committed suicide by consuming acid mixture yesterday.

The deceased teacher has been identified as Siddappa Mallappa Dommanal, a teacher at Institute of Education in Vidyaranyapuram and a resident of Lakshmipuram in city.

Siddappa who was writhing in pain after consuming the acid mixture, was rushed to a private hospital, where he breathed his last after failing to respond to the treatment. Lakshmipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
