Teacher trainees urged to teach with interest and dedication

Mysuru: The contemporary school students are highly enthusiastic and therefore teacher trainees must teach them with interest and dedication, said Prof. Y. Sreekanth, Principal, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysuru. He was presiding over the three-day Pre-Internship Conference of Navodaya School Principals and Teachers at RIE here recently.

He said that teacher trainees have to prepare the lesson plan in a proper way showing it to senior teachers before executing it in the class room. Teaching is not just talking, rather it demands appropriate thinking and crucial planning, he added.

A.Y. Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samithi, Hyderabad Region, who was the chief guest, called upon RIE Mysuru students who will be undergoing 40-day Internship programme in different Navodaya Vidyalayas in the Hyderabad Region spread over Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, to use the facilities available in these schools to the maximum. He said teacher trainees must be committed and dedicated to help students understand the subject properly.

Prof. D.G. Rao, former Principal, RIE, also addressed the conference participants. Dr. Madhu, Assistant Professor, RIE, proposed a vote of thanks.
