Teachers demand abolition of compulsory retirement system

Mysuru:  The district High School Teachers, under the aegis of Karnataka State High School Teachers Association, staged a protest in front of the DDPI’s office here yesterday seeking abolition of compulsory transfer system which is unscientific and instead appealed to grant transfer only on mutual request.

The teachers pointed out that a weird transfer policy exists only in the Department of Education and not elsewhere.

They alleged that the compulsory transfer had become a sort of punishment for teachers, especially for those elderly ones on the verge of retirement.

Karnataka State High School Teachers State President J.C. Shankar, District President Ramprasad, Convenor J.J. Prakash and Chief Convenor H.A. Hanumantha Raju led the protest.
