Teachers urged to be pace-setters of standards

Dr. N. N. Prahallada seen with D. Karunakar,  Principal and School Teachers.

Mysuru:  “Teachers are expected to be competent, resourceful in their subjects and pace-setters of standards,” said Dr. N.N. Prahallada, former faculty of RIE, Mysuru.

He was addressing teachers of Jnanasarovara International Residential School, Mysuru on May 23 at the school premises.

Dr. Prahallada said “teaching is the stimulation, guidance, direction and encouragement of learning. A teacher who stimulates students  capabilities, skills and attitudes and knowledge will be an effective teacher. His or her behaviour should set an example so that the learners may emulate him or her.”  A teacher is the real custodian of values which he has to transmit to students, he opined.

An effective teacher should make use of technological gadgets like powerpoint presentation, Over Head Projector (OHP), Slide Projector, computers, video clipping, white board with marker pen etc. to make Teaching – Learning process better.

D. Karunakar,  Principal, Jnanasarvorar International Residential School welcomed. As many as 24 teachers participated.
