Mysore/Mysuru: City-based volunteer group Team Mysuru has launched its latest initiative, ‘Hasiru Mysuru Abhiyana’ (Green Mysuru Campaign), aimed at nurturing saplings and sustaining urban greenery.
The campaign was flagged off on Wednesday at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram premises on Nanjangud Road by Sri Ganapathy Swamiji, who inaugurated a newly added water tanker to water the saplings.
Speaking on the occasion, the Swamiji said environmental protection must become a collective responsibility. “Planting trees alone is not enough. Nurturing them with proper care and water until they grow is true service to nature. Team Mysuru’s initiative is commendable,” he said.
MLA T.S. Srivatsa said Team Mysuru has been actively involved in environmental conservation for over 12 years through tree plantation and maintenance drives across Mysuru. He said the addition of the dedicated water tanker would further strengthen the organisation’s efforts.
