The team reached the counting centre and a few representatives of political parties (candidate agents) were also present. The Observers thoroughly examined the Register of Voters (Form 17A) and the total votes polled in the machine(s) tallies with the total votes polled mentioned in the Form-17 C submitted by the Returning Officers.

The Observers examined the records of the booths where the highest polling was reported to match with the poll data and also the register of voters, the signature affixed on the register and  the related forms. Even the records of booths that reported the lowest voting percentage was examined.

Data was also screened on the people who have voted despite not having the voter ID card and the polling that was done based on old voter ID Cards. In case, the total votes polled in the machine(s) do not tally with the total votes polled mentioned in Form-17 C, the matter should be referred to the Election Commission for its decision, officers told Star of Mysore.

When the representatives of political parties pointed out some deficiencies and gave suggestions, the Observers assured them that they would bring it to the notice of the Election Commission.
