Team SJCE wins BioQuiz

Mysuru,: Team SJCE has won the first place and a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 in the BioQuiz-2017 held at Bengaluru.

BioQuiz 2017 (India’s largest State-level Bioquiz) was organised by KBITS (Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services), Department of IT, BT and S & T; Government of Karnataka. It was an open event to the students from Karnataka currently pursuing their B.Sc, B.ScAgri, B. Pharma, B.Tech- Biotech, BTFS, BE- Biotechnology, BE- Biomedical Engineering and BE-Biomedical Signal Processing and Instrumentation courses. The first round of the quiz was held at the regional-level divided into 6 zones — Kalaburagi, Manipal, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Dharwad, Bengaluru regions. The quiz for Mysuru region was held at JSS College of Arts, Science and Commerce on Ooty Road here on Oct.24.

Among those teams that participated in Mysuru zone, Team SJCE consisting of Nischay Prasad and  B.Thanuraj, 5th Semester B.E Biotechnology students, won the first place and qualified for the State finals which was conducted on Nov.18 at Bengaluru Palace. The participants comprised all the six zone winners and Team SJCE bagged the first place at the final round. Runner-up and third prize was bagged by Manipal College of Sciences and Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc), Bengaluru respectively.
