Technical talk on ‘Deep Learning for Better Classification’

Mysuru: SJCE Alumni Association had organised a technical talk on ‘Deep Learning for Better Classification’ by Dr. Abhay M.S. Aradhya, Researcher at Computational Intelligence Laboratory, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

Dr. Abhay spoke about the present trends of various learning paradigms by machine.

He elaborated the new concept of learning paradigms called Deep Learning and highlighted the various applications of Deep Learning in the field of Health Care industries, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision.

He also highlighted on the following points: How Deep Learning can be effectively used for autonomous/self driving cars, various challenges encountered in neuro-imaging data, complexity involved in classifying Attention Deficit Hyper Active Disorder (ADHD)/ non-ADHD in children.

Further, the speaker presented the various challenges in Deep Learning and explained how it can be overcome. The main gist of the talk was to make machine to learn by itself.

The talk was attended by more than 100 UG, PG and Research students. Later the SJCE Alumni Association felicitated alumnus Dr. Abhay Aradhya.
