Temple burgled in city

Mysuru: After a brief lull, temple burglars have stuck again in the city, with a temple in Jalapuri Police Quarters found burgled this morning.

Burglars, who gained entry into Adishakti temple in Jalapuri Police Quarters after forcing open the entry door in the wee hours of this morning, have decamped with 3 mangalya chains and a gold chain.

The burglars also broke open the hundi (offerings box) and made away with cash and the incident came to light when the priest came to the temple as usual in the morning for performing rituals.

The theft at the temple, which is hardly a few metres away  from residential blocks, has given rise to suspicion among locals, it is learnt.  Nazarbad Police rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar.
