Tennis: Vasisht scores over Bassel

Mysuru lad C. Vasisht, taking part in the Egypt F19 Futures $15,000 ITF Men’s Tennis Tournament-2018 here, won his second round qualifying Men’s Singles tie against Hassan Bassel (Egypt), and entered final qualifying round on Sunday.

Vasisht registered a 6-1, 2-6, 6-1 win over Hassan Bassel to enter the final round.

Incidentally, Vasisht, taking part in the previous leg of the tournament, teaming up with Tejas Chaukulkar, lost in the quarter-finals in the Men’s Doubles event on Friday. Second seeds Alexander Erler (Aut) & Markos Kalovelowis (Rus) combined well to beat Vasisht & Tejas 6-4, 6-2 and entered the semi-finals.
