Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Botany (UG & PG) at Teresian College, Mysuru, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), recently hosted an International Conference on “Intellectual Property Management in the Era of Scientific Advancements” at the Ave Maria Golden Jubilee Auditorium in the college campus.
The conference aimed to promote awareness about the critical role of Intellectual Property (IP) Management in accelerating scientific breakthroughs while navigating ethical challenges.
In his keynote address Dr. M.V. Raghunandanan, Sr. Principal Scientist & Head, Information Technology & Computational Solutions Department at CSIR – CFTRI, Mysuru, shed light on the integration of IP frameworks and highlighted Intellectual Property Management as a key catalyst for safeguarding innovation in today’s rapidly advancing scientific era.
Technical Sessions
Following the inauguration, the Conference transitioned into engaging technical sessions aimed at building practical skills in innovative IP frameworks and protection strategies
The sessions were led by distinguished resource persons: Dr. M.V. Sunil, Assistant Professor of System & General Management at SDM-IMD, Mysuru; Sunethra Sudhakar Derebail, Team Manager for Life Science at S & H Partners, Bengaluru; Dr. Jyothis Devasia, Post-Doctoral Fellow from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Europe.
Rev. Dr. Sr. Rohini, CSST, Principal, Teresian College, Rev. Dr. Sr. Juanita, CSST, Principal, Teresian PU College, Rev. Sr. Anjali, CSST, Local Manager, Teresian College were present.
Organising Secretaries, Dr. B. Sapna (Assistant Professor, UG Botany) and Dr. Nilina James (Assistant Professor, PG Botany), played a pivotal role in structuring the conference.
The Organising Committee members D.R. Asha (Assistant Professor, PG Botany), Preetha Florina (Assistant Professor, PG Botany) and K. Anju (Assistant Professor, UG Botany), ensured the seamless coordination of the day’s events.
The conference brought together under-graduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, teaching faculty, academicians and legal professionals to foster high-level, cross-border collaboration and share innovative research ideas.
