TET for teacher recruitment to be held on May 21, 22

Bengaluru: The Teacher Eligibility Test, known as TET, for recruitment of teachers for classes one to eight in Government Schools, will be held across the State on May 21 and 22.

Announcing this here on Tuesday, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh said that 15,000 Primay School teachers will be recruited for which the TET will be conducted under Police supervision on May 21 and 22.

TET will take place at 435 centres spread across the State and 1.06 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam.

Noting that the Government taking note of the corruption unearthed in the recent recruitment of PSIs and Assistant Professors, Nagesh said that the Police Department will be engaged for ensuring a fair and transparent TET.

Stating that all exam halls will be under continuous CCTV surveillance, he said that the candidates will not be allowed to bring any electronic gadgets or accessories, such as mobile, smart phone, ear phone, bluetooth etc., to the exam hall. Also all candidates have to undergo three stages of checks   including metal detector screening before entering the exam centre, the Minister added.
