Text to girl sparks assault; Police case booked

Mysore/Mysuru: A youth, who had sent a text message to a girl, was brutally assaulted by the girl’s lover and his accomplices, at Sharadadevinagar in city on Wednesday.

The youth is identified as Vinod of Sharadadevinagar.

It is said that, Vinod had sent a message to a girl known to him on her phone and the girl in turn informed about the message to her boyfriend Karthik.

Angered over Vinod sending message to his lover, Karthik, along with his friends Arjun, Prashanth, Guru and Tarun went near Bankers Club at Sharadadevinagar, where they found Vinod hanging out with his friends Abhilash and Guru.

Karthik and his friends allegedly attacked Vinod with iron rods. When Abhilash and Guru tried to intervene, they had to suffer the wrath of the assailants, who  assaulted them before fleeing from the spot. The passersby admitted Vinod, Abhilash and Guru, who had collapsed due to severe bleeding, to a hospital.

A case has been registered at Saraswathipuram Police Station.
