Mysuru city’s women’s tennis player Dhruthi T. Venugopal, representing India in the $15,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament in Thailand yesterday won her first round Women’s Singles tie against Sweden’s Kaisa Rinaldo Persson 6-2, 6-1 and entered the pre-quarterfinals in the Tournament. In the Women’s Doubles event, Dhruthi, teaming up with Kanika Vaidya, got the better of K. Zhibek (KAZ) and Natasha Palha 7-6 (1), 6-1 and entered the quarter-finals.
