Mysuru: Theatre has the power to eradicate the growing menace of casteism, said Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam.

She was speaking after inaugurating the 40-day theatre training programme organised by city-based amateur group Abhiyenthararu at Maneyangala, here recently.

“We have been witnessing cruelty in the name of caste and religion every day which has disturbed the society. These issues can be addressed through theatre which stands above all religions. Theatre also has the capacity to develop overall personality of a person and also understand the feelings of a fellow human being,” she said.
