Theft play boomerangs, car driver arrested: Police recover Rs. 94 lakh

Mysuru: Vidyaranyapuram Police have arrested a car driver for allegedly stealing about Rs.94 lakh belonging to the owner. Interestingly, the car driver had lodged a complaint with the Police claiming that the money was stolen by some miscreants.

The accused is Sayed Farhan, 24, working as a car driver for Sayed Shamshuddin, an iron dealer in Channapatna.

Shamshuddin was said to have sent Farhan along with the shop writer Nyamathullah on Feb.7 to collect money from sub-dealers in Kollegal, T. Narasipur and Nanjangud. After collecting the money, Farhan and Nyamathullah had come to Vishweshwaranagar in city to visit Mahalakshmi Steel Shop. After coming out of the shop, Farhan observed that the money had been stolen from the car and had lodged a complaint with Vidyaranyapuram Police.

The Police on quizzing Farhan elicited the truth. When Nyamathullah had gone to the shop in Vishweshwaranagar, as per a pre-planned plot, Farhan had handed over the money to his brother who was informed earlier to come there.

Farhan’s brother had left immediately. Farhan was said to  have pretended with Nyamatullah that the money had been stolen by some miscreants from the car.

The Police have recovered the amount of about Rs.94 lakh from Farhan and are looking for his brother.
