The land’s dailies of all hues may have run far short of their column space informing their readers about the cacophony generated by both netas and their chelas in a free-for-all game of everyone of them trying to outwit everyone else, leaving some sections of society in a state of disgust and the rest amused to some extent. The astute among the literati can be heard remarking in subdued voice that the daily print media is helpless with nothing much to be carried to their loyal patrons except the crap being uttered during rallies and road shows by the leaders and activists of various political parties. Mysuru too is hosting assembly of people in large numbers like never before, a good proportion of them being brought to the venues in hired transport in addition to some pocket money and also refreshments. The masses leave the venues with mass of garbage for the civic workers to restore cleanliness at public cost. Neither the rallyists nor their followers couldn’t care less about disturbing orderly life on the streets of the city.

The rewards that come in cash and kind for all the inputs of money and muscle power to first land in the Parliament, Legislative Assembly, Urban Local Body, Gram Panchayat and Co-operative Society, followed by annexing posts of profit are too tempting to be ignored. The present flock of netas are creating a conduit for their progeny to carry on, ushering in dynastic culture.

The issue of getting back to the country’s government account books money stashed in foreign banks by Indians with or without identity that was being talked about in the nation’s Parliament not too long ago seems to have got clouded by other issues, currently stumped by public sector Banks being defrauded by a few to the extent of God-knows-how-many-thousands of crore rupees. The gullible depositors of their money in these Banks are keeping their fingers crossed and mouths shut wondering about the fate of their meagre assets. The netas with their dramatic rise to the status of high-net-worth-individuals, including those who have been awarded jail sentences, couldn’t care less.

Amidst the current goings on creating a sense of insecurity in the minds of sections of society not latching on to the netas’ tails, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister has slammed the graduates of top institutes for going to elusive shores after studies. These NRIs too couldn’t careless.
