Madikeri: Kushalnagar Police have arrested a thief, who has stolen two double barrel gun and two bikes and have recovered both the stolen items from him.
The accused has been identified as K.C. Ashok, a resident of Kakkabe village. He had stolen two bikes at Kannangala village in Virajpet taluk and the two double barrel guns at Abayth Mangala village in Kushalnagar taluk. He had gone absconding after committing the crime.
Acting on a tip off, the Police intercepted his bike near Koodige Bridge and on inspection, the Police found the guns and also came to know that the bike he was riding was a stolen one and arrested him.
Ashok, who had come out jail about 15 days back, continued with criminal activities, it is learnt.
During interrogation, the Police came to know that he had attempted to burgle a house at Chembebellur village in Virajpet taluk.
The Police have recovered the stolen guns worth about Rs. 1 lakh, one Hero Honda bike worth Rs. 52,000 and a TVS bike worth about Rs. 20,000 from him.
Dy.SP Shailendra guided Kushalnagar Circle Inspector Mahesh, DCIB Police and Kushalnagar Police in the joint operation to nab the accused.
