Thieves break into wine store: Decamp with Rs. 2.25 lakh worth liquor, Rs. 10,000 cash

Nanjangud: Burglars, who gained entry into a wine store on the outskirts of Tagadur village in the taluk, have decamped with 61 boxes of liquor worth about Rs. 2.25 lakh and Rs. 10,000 cash from the wine store on Saturday night.

The burglary took place at Santosh Wines, belonging to N.M. Krishna. The burglars, who tried to gain entry into the wine store by forcibly opening the rolling shutter, failed in their attempt and later broke the roofing sheet of the wine store and gained entry into the wine store and decamped with liquor boxes and cash. 

The burglary came to light yesterday morning when Kiran, the Manager of the Wine Store opened the store and found liquor boxes and cash missing.

Dy.SP C. Mallick, Circle Inspector Shekar, SI Ravikumar and staff visited the  wine store, conducted mahazar and summoned the Dog Squad and Fingerprint experts to the spot.

A case has been registered at Dodda Kavalande Police Station, in this regard.
