Thieves who stole valuables worth Rs. 30 lakh from city lodge arrested

Mysore/Mysuru: Devaraja Police, have arrested two persons on charges of stealing gold ornaments, silver articles and cash from a room in a city lodge and have recovered the stolen booty from them.

Devaraja Police, who had registered a case pertaining to robbery at a lodge on Lakshmi Vilas Road on July 19, took up the investigation and based on technical evidence, the Cops on July 21 arrested one accused and based on the information provided by the accused, the Police, on July 26 arrested another accused.

Following interrogation, the Police have recovered 621 grams gold ornaments and 350 grams silver articles worth Rs. 30,18,000, and Rs. 40,000 cash from them besides seizing one car and two mobile phones from them.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP M.N. Shashidhar guided Devaraja Inspector Diwakar, Sub-Inspectors Raju and Leelavathi and staff Somashetty, Suresh, Venugopal, Nandeesh and Pradeep in the nabbing and recovery operation.
