Thousands take part in Ahimsa Rally

Mysuru: An ‘Ahimsa Rally’ led by the 11th Acharya of Terapanth Samaj, Sri Mahashramanji was taken out this morning in city under the aegis of Sri Jain Shwethambar Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Mysuru.

The Tri-Nation Ahimsa Yatra led by the Acharya commenced from Red Fort, New Delhi in 2014 covering India, Nepal and Bhutan to promote harmony, escalate morality and launch a movement towards de-addiction covering a distance of 15,000 kms on foot. 

The ‘Ahimsa Rally’ commenced this morning from St. Philomena’s Church premises passing through Ashoka Road, Chamaraja Circle and culminated at Adishwar Vatica in Siddarthanagar where the Acharya delivered a discourse.

Over 4,000 members of the Jain community and others including students participated in the ‘Yatra’.

The ‘Ahimsa Yatra’ will begin tomorrow at 7.30 am from Terapanth Bhavan on M.G. Road and reach Brahma Kumaris Centre in Yelwal where a discourse will be delivered.

Mysuru Bishop Rev. K.A. William, MLA S.A. Ramdas, Parishad President Mahaveer Derasariya, Sabha President Mahendra Nahar, Founder-President of Yuva Sanghatana Budhmal Baghmar, Helping Hands President Mahaveer Khabiya, Sri Sthanakwasi Yuva Vice-President Manohar Sankala and others were present.
