Mysuru: A grand Teppotsava of Sri Datta Venkateshwaraswamy was held in the presence of thousands of devotees including foreigners at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama premises, Dattanagar, Ooty Road here last evening as part of the week-long 76th birthday festivities of Sri Swamiji.
The Pallaki Utsava of Sri Datta Venkateshwaraswamy began at 6.30 pm and reached the Saptarshi Sarovar pond in the Ashrama premises at 6.45 pm where puja and Mahamangalarathi was offered to the idol. At 7 pm, the idol was installed in the teppa or the boat, designed in the form of a swan and decorated with electric bulbs.
Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji performed puja to Sri Datta Venkateshwaraswamy and the boat was taken on ten rounds (circumambulation) in the pond. Later, the Sri Swamiji gave a discourse on the importance and glory of a few places. The devotees had the darshan and blessings of the Swamiji. The Pallaki Utsava culminated at Venkateshwara temple. Junior Pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji and other devotees participated in the Teppotsava.
This morning (May 25) Brahmotsava Abhisheka was performed to Sri Datta Venkateshwaraswamy at 8 am.
At 6.30 pm today, Vid. Mysore Nagaraj and Vid. Abhishek Raghuram will present Karnatak music concert.
Tomorrow (May 26) at 9 am, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji’s 76th birthday will be celebrated in a grand manner by the devotees.
