Three arrested for attempting to sell Scaly Anteater

Mysuru: Incidents of poachers indulging in smuggling of Pangolins to sell them seems to be on the rise, with the Forest Mobile Squad personnel arresting three smugglers and recovering a Pangolin (Scaly Anteater) from them in city.

The accused were caught while they were trying to sell the Pangolin on Nanjangud-Chamarajanagar Road. The accused are 30-year-old Basavaraju, 29-year-old Yogesh and 31-year-old Basavaraju. The Forest Mobile Squad personnel have seized one Hero Honda Passion Pro bike (KA-45-Y-2711) and a Hero Honda Splendor bike (KA-09-EX-7462) used for the crime from them. All the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.  

DCF Poovaiah, DRFOs Mohan, Pramod and Madhusudan, Guards Sharanappa, Satish and others took part in the operation.
