Mysuru: Sharanu Vishwavachana Foundation had organised a function at Sri Rajendra Bhavana in JSS Hospital premises here on Saturday for the release of three books on Sharana Sahitya. Littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar released the three books ‘Haavinahala Kallaiah’ by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hebri, ‘Jaganmathe Akka Mahadevi’ by Nagarle Shivakumar and ‘Enlightening Vachanas’ by Roopa Kumaraswamy.

Speaking on the occasion, JSS Mahavidyapetha College Education Director Morabada Mallikarjuna regretted that modernity was eclipsing rich Kannada. He lauded the efforts of Roopa Kumaraswamy in translating the Vachanas to English and bringing out a book. He suggested that Kannada Vachanas could also be printed in English script.

Foundation Head Vachana Kumaraswamy, Mysuru Unit Hon. President N. Srikanta Murthy, President Anil Kumar Vajantri, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hebri, Nagarle Shivakumar and Roopa Kumaraswamy were present.
