Mysuru: In separate cases, V.V. Puram Police have arrested three burglars who had burgled houses and have recovered gold ornaments and cash worth about Rs.11 lakh from them.
In the first case, the Cops on Oct.15 arrested 32-year-old Riyan alias Harish alias Reegan of Gokulam on charges of burgling the house.
Riyan, who was staying in the rented house, had got a duplicate key of the owner’s house made and burgled the house when nobody was present at the house.
The Police have recovered 69 grams gold ornaments and Rs.48,000 cash, all totalling Rs.3 lakh from him.
In the second case, the Police, who conducted an operation on Kumbarakoppal Main Road on Oct.16, arrested two persons for committing house burglaries.
The arrested are 26-year-old J. Pavan and J. Praveen, brothers residing in Gokulam 3rd Stage and have recovered 360 grams gold jewellery worth about Rs.8 lakh from them.
DCPs M. Muthuraj and B.T. Kavitha and NR Sub-Division ACP C. Gopal supervised V.V. Puram Inspector H.N. Vinay and staff Somashekar, Prasanna, Jeevan, Eeranna, K.G. Diwakar, Madhusudan and Suresh in the nabbing and recovery operation, according to a press release from the Public Relations Officer (PRO), City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
