Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Polytechnic for the Differently-Abled (JSS PDA), Mysuru, is hosting the 3rd Indian Congress for Persons with Disabilities in association with a group of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), NGOs and other organisations working in the line of Welfare of PwDs’ at its premises from Feb. 21 to 23. Around 150 delegates (differently-abled) from all parts of the country and also from neighboring countries are expected to participate in the event.
Addressing a press meet recently, Manjunath Reddy, Organising Secretary said, “The main focus of the Congress is to create awareness to the community about the differently-abled persons, their needs and contributions, encourage their talents, emphasising the role of Persons with Disabilities in creating an inclusive society and other support to the differently-abled. The events includes workshop on emotional development, art and craft, sports, panel discussions on marriage and relationships, career development, employment, workplace solutions, travel and tourism, cultural programme and motivational speeches, an inclusive run where everyone can run irrespective of their abilities, age or gender.”
Mayor Tasneem will inaugurate the event on Feb. 21 at 10 am. B. Elangovan, Principal of JSS PDA, Rabindran Issac from Coimbatore, Thomas Kraus from Germany, G. Mamatha and Jagan, Organising Committee members, were also present.
