Three-day ‘Maha Taranga’ at Maharani’s College

‘Mysurendare Maharaniyaru’ song released

Mysore/Mysuru: Maharani’s Science College for Women, Mysuru, had organised a three-day talent and cultural show titled ‘Maha Taranga’ at its premises from June 1 for the College students to exhibit their talents in various fields.

Journalist Preethi Nagaraj, who was the chief guest for the inaugural programme, released ‘Mysurendare Maharaniyaru’ song composed by College English Department Asst. Professor Govindaraju Lakshmipura. The students danced to the song with colourful candles in their hands. Speaking on the occasion, Preethi Nagaraj said that ‘Maha Taranga’ is the right platform for all the students to exhibit their talent. “Women must not lose their hope at any point of life. They must be strong and determined in every situation so as to face any hurdles which come across in life,” she said.

College Principal Dr. D. Ravi, who presided, said that students must actively participate in such programmes.

Cultural Committee Convenor Dr. Parashuram Murthy, Treasurer Dr. M.P. Raghavendra, President Poorvika, Vice-President Meghana, Secretary T.P. Bhavana and other staff and students were present.
