Three-day National-level Men’s Modern Kho-Kho Tournament from Feb. 24

Mysore/Mysuru: The three-day National-level Floodlight Men’s Modern Kho-Kho Tournament, organised jointly by Modern Kho-Kho Samsthe, Mysuru District Unit, Modern Kho-Kho Samsthe, Bharat Unit and Modern Kho-Kho Samsthe, Karnataka Unit, will be held from Feb. 24 to 26 at Vivekanada Stadium in Kuvempunagar in city.

Disclosing this at a press meet held at Pathrakartara Bhavan yesterday, Modern Kho-Kho Samsthe Karnataka Unit President N. Prakash, who is also an Ekalvya Awardee, said that former Mayor Sunanda Palanetra will inaugurate the tournament on Feb. 24 at 6.30 pm at Vivekananda Stadium while MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy will preside.  Modern Kho-Kho Samsthe Bharat Unit Secretary Srikanth More, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) Assistant Director Rohith Gangadhar and others will be present as guests.

The prize distribution ceremony will be held at 6.30 pm on Feb. 26. District Minister S.T. Somashekar, Minister Narayanagowda, Mayor Shivakumar and MLA S.A. Ramdas will be the guests. On the occasion, P.N. Sampath, T.H. Chandrashekar, Maria Mary, S. Prakash and N. Shobha Narayan will be felicitated for their lifetime achievements   in Kho-Kho. As many as 14 teams from various States including Kerala, TN, UP and Maharashtra will take part in the tournament and the first three winners will be present with cash prizes.

Modern Kho-Kho Samsthe Karnataka Unit Secretary Chinnamurthy, Vice-President Mahadevappa and senior Kho-Kho player Manjunath were present.
