Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in city have organised a three-day online introductory programme from tomorrow (Jan.18) for fresh students who got admitted to the University (2020-21) in July session. Deputy Chief Minister Dr.C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who is also the Higher education Minister will address the students online.
During the three day introductory programme, which concludes on Jan. 20, the students will be introduced to exams, contact classes, library facilities, employment guidance, skill development programmes, facilities that are available for free, Kaushalya Karnataka Scheme and all other facilities available at KSOU.
A total of 17,244 students have enrolled for the current academic year, with 4,940 admissions to BA, 2,262 for M.Com, 1,260 for MBA and more than 1,000 students for MA in Kannada, History, English etc. Admission for Science courses too has picked up, with 267 students enrolling for Post-Graduate course (M.Sc) in Maths, 216 for Chemistry, 165 for Physics,110 for Computer Science, 80 for Clinical Nutrition and 79 for Micro-Biology.
