Three-day Srirangapatna Dasara begins from tomorrow

Mandya: With Srirangapatna Dasara to be held from tomorrow till Oct.18, DC N. Manjushree held a meeting at a hotel in Srirangapatna yesterday to review the preparations.

Manjushree  asked the Dasara Sub-Committees to carry out assigned responsibilities without a glitch. She said that floral tributes will be offered to an idol of Goddess Chamnudeshwari between 2 pm and 2.45 pm tomorrow followed by Jumboo Savari with an array of folk troupes in attendance.

The DC asked the officials of various Departments to include tableaux in the procession. She further said that the cultural programmes will be held near Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple.

She disclosed that three elephants of Mysuru Dasara will be participating in the procession and asked the Forest and Police officials to take adequate steps to maintain safety. She instructed CESC officials to illuminate important circles.

DCF Shivaraj, ZP Deputy Secretary Krishnaraj, Assistant Commissioner Shailaja, PWD Executive Engineer Harsha and others attended the meeting.

Earlier to that, the DC inspected Bannimantap in Kirangur, route of the procession and the premises of Sri Ranganthaswamy Temple.
