Three-day theatre fest at Natana from July 14

Mysuru: Natana, Mysuru, will organise a three-day theatre fest in memory of K.V. Subbanna from July 14 to 16 at its premises in Ramakrishnanagar.

The theatre fest will be inaugurated by Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree on July 14 at 10 am.

The event will be presided by former Rangayana Director Prasanna. Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam, Kannada and Culture Director M.S. Archana, Information and Public Relations Director N.R. Vishu Kumar, Thinker Prof. G.K. Govindrao, Playwright D.S. Chougle, Art Director Shashidhar Adapa and K.Y. Narayanaswamy will be the chief guests.

Later, Kannada and Culture Department Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, journalist G.N. Mohan, Music Director V. Manohar will be the guests for the event to be held at 6.30 pm.

As a part of the international theatre festival, artistes of Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, will stage the play ‘Diary of a Cockroach’ directed by Sukesh Arora. The play will be staged at 11 am and 12 noon.

Later, Natana artistes will stage the play ‘Subhadra Kalyana’ at 6.30 pm. The play is directed by Mandya Ramesh.

July 15: England’s Finger and Thumb Theatre will stage the play ‘Small Pebbles’ at 11 am and 12.30 pm. At 6.30 pm, Natana artistes will stage Habeeb Tanveer’s play ‘Chora Charanadasa.’

July 16: Natana artistes will stage the play ‘Kempu Kanagile’ originally written by Rabindranath Tagore. The play has been translated into Kannada by Sudha Aadukala and directed by Dr. Sripad Bhat.
