Three ‘Disinfectant Tunnels’ launched at APMC Market

Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, three ‘Disinfectant Tunnels’ that are installed at separate places in Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Market on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road were launched recently.

The disinfectant tunnels have been installed by the Mysuru Zilla and Taluk Panchayat and Hosahundi Gram Panchayat in collaboration with APMC to protect the health of shopkeepers, labourers, farmers and buyers.

Speaking to SOM, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Krishnakumar said that thousands of people were coming to APMC and the disinfectant tunnels have been installed to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and urged the shopkeepers, labourers and buyers to use these disinfectant tunnels compulsorily.

He further said that sprayers installed in the tunnels would spray Sodium Hypochlorite solution on those passing through the tunnels which would help prevent the virus from spreading for two hours.

Tahsildar Rakshit, Hosahundi Gram Panchayat’s Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) Satish, APMC Market Vice-President Javarappa and others were present on the occasion.
