Three drug peddlers sentenced to 12 years imprisonment

Mysuru: City’s 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced three drug peddlers to 12 years rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 1.25 lakh after they were found guilty of attempting to sell Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as ecstasy drug.

Those sentenced are Javeed Ahmed, Syed Mohammed Noorulla alias Paarivala and Saddam Hussain.

During the raid by City Crime Branch (CCB) Police in 2024, the Police had arrested Javeed, Syed and Saddam and had seized 51 grams MDMA, one vehicle and mobile phones from them and a case was registered at Mandi Police Station.

Mandi Police, who conducted investigation, had submitted a charge sheet to the Court.

The 7th Additional District and Sessions Court, who took up the case, found the three accused guilty and convicted them on Aug. 28.

Public Prosecutor Vijayalakshmi argued on behalf of the Government.
