Three held for brandishing machetes, creating fear among public

Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police have taken three persons into custody and have launched a hunt to nab another on charges of brandishing machetes (long) and creating fear among the public.

Those in Police custody are 26-year-old Shakeel of Kurimandi, 29-year-old Mohammed Rafi and 25-year-old Shariq of Udayagiri. The Police, who have seized a car and a machete, are on a look out for Mohammed Saleem, who had fled from the spot.

On Sunday evening, the accused, brandishing lethal weapons, indulged in a fight in Kurimandi 1st Cross, creating fear among the public.

On receiving information, Sub-Inspector Chandrashekar Itagi and staff Vinod Rathod, Rajesab Mulla and Mallikarjun Chowgale, who were on their regular patrolling, rushed to the spot. On seeing the Police vehicle, Saleem fled from the spot and Cops managed to catch hold of the other three. A case has been registered at NR Police Station and the 3 accused were interrogated.
