Three held for looting transgenders

Mobile phone, three two-wheelers, car worth Rs. 2.25 lakh seized

Mysore/Mysuru: Narasimharaja (NR) Police, on Nov. 5 arrested three persons on charges of looting transgenders and have recovered a mobile phone besides seizing three two-wheelers and a car from them.

The accused are 28-year-old M. Thausif of Old Janatha Colony in Yelwal, 23-year-old Gunavardhan of Palahalli and 22-year-old M. Manjunath of MCC Colony at Jyothinagar.

The accused, on Oct. 29 at about 7.30 pm, had forcibly taken two transgenders in their car near Columbia Asia Hospital junction and had looted them of Rs. 9,100 cash and a mobile phone before pushing them out of the car. A case was registered at NR Police Station on Oct. 31.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have told the Police of looting the transgenders besides confessing of lifting two-wheelers at Mandi Mohalla in city, Nagamangala and Srirangapatna. Based on information provided by them, the Police have recovered one Samsung Mobile phone and three two-wheelers besides seizing the car used for the crime. The recovered phone and two-wheelers and the seized car is worth about Rs. 2.25 lakh.

DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna and NR Sub-Division ACP Shivashankar supervised NR Inspector G. Shekar, Sub-Inspector Anand and staff Manjunath, Gangadhar, Ramesh, Mahesh, Sunil and Shivaraju in the nabbing, recovery and seizing operation, according to a press release from Police Commissioner’s Office.
