T. Narasipur: In a gruesome road accident, three pedestrians, including a woman, were fatally mowed down when a speeding motorcycle hit them near Mugur Bus stand in the taluk today morning.
The deceased have been identified as Basavaraj alias Basavanna of Karohatti, Chikkamma of Mugur Hosahalli in the Taluk and Govindashetty of Ummathur in Chamarajanagar taluk. Also, another pedestrian, Mahadevashetty and the motorcycle rider Salman, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, have been rushed to a private Hospital in Mysuru.
Details: Basavaraj, Chikkamma, Govindashetty and Mahadevashetty were standing at Mugur Bus Stand on Kollegal Highway and were about to board a private bus which had just arrived, when a speeding Kerala registered motorcycle coming from T. Narasipur side knocked down Basavaraj, Chikkamma and Govindashetty, killing them on the spot, while seriously injuring the fourth pedestrian, Mahadevashetty. The bike rider who too sustained injuries along with Mahadevashetty were rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru.
DySP C.B. Ryshyanth, Additional SP P.V. Sneha, Probationary SP Lakhan Singh and T. Narasipur CPI M.R. Lava visited the spot. T. Narasipur Police have registered a case in this regard.
