Three from State likely to be inducted into Union Cabinet

Bengaluru: Keeping in mind the Karnataka Assembly Polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to induct three new faces from the State into his Cabinet.

The Union Cabinet, which may see a reshuffle shortly, will make way for new faces. In the reshuffle, which is likely to happen by the end of this month, Union Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda is likely to be dropped. Gowda is to be given party responsibility in the State, it is learnt.

The reshuffle follows BJP National President Amit Shah’s 3-day visit to the State recently. PM Modi with a view to lure Veerashaiva Lingayat voters may include Rajya Sabha MP Prabhakar Kore or Belagavi MP Suresh Angadi in his Cabinet.

The other likely faces are Nalin Kumar Kateel and B. Sriramalu.

While the State RSS leaders are backing Dakshina Kannada MP Kateel, State BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa is keen to see Udupi – Chikkamagaluru MP Shoba Karandlaje as a Union Minister.

As for B. Sriramalu is concerned, the Ballari MP is said to have declined the offer, saying that he wants to contest the 2018 Assembly Polls.
