An initiative of Kodava Samaja
Mysuru: A. Seethamma and Achaiah Memorial Throwball Tournament for Women, as part of the Mysuru Inter-Kodava Associations Games Meet, under the aegis of Kodava Samaja Cultural and Sports Club, commenced this morning at Cauvery Institutions Grounds in Kuvempunagar here.
Nine teams are participating in the event with the winning team getting a cash prize of Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000 for the runner-up. Trophy and individual trophies will also be given to each of the winners.
Inaugurating the programme, Mysore Institute of Commerce and Arts Principal M.N. Sachi Ponnamma asked students not to focus only on studies but devote some time for sports. She opined that sports would strengthen both the body and mind. She added that healthy people would build a healthy nation.
Mysuru Kodava Samaja President K.M. Belliappa was the guest of honour.
Cauvery Institutions Chairman M.K. Kuttappa, Club President M.P. Nanaiah, Vice-President K.D. Muthappa, Secretary K.N. Kushalappa, Joint Secretary M.K. Prakash, Treasurer I.A. Chengappa, Committee Members A.K. Nanjappa, A.M. Ponnamma, C.B. Changappa, M.S. Bopanna and N.S. Muthappa were present.
