Tibetan Democracy Day celebrations at Bylakuppe

Bylakuppe: The 57th  anniversary  of  Tibetan Democracy Day was  organised here at Tibetan Dicky Larso Auditorium recently.

B.V. Javaregowda,  President of Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society, who was the chief guest inaugurated the programme.  

Speaking on this occasion, Javaregowda said that there should be an atmosphere and he hopes that the Democracy of the Tibetans should be celebrated within Tibet under the leadership of His Holiness Dalai Lama.

The People  Republic of China  should not encourage violation of human rights of the Tibetan community and they shall  uphold the democratic values as recognised by the United Nations.

Javaregowda also  hailed  the principles of non-violence adopted by His Holiness in getting the freedom for Tibet with the sympathy and co-operation of all the countries. He also appealed to the Tibetan youths not adhere to the self-immolation method against the Chinese aggressive attitude.

Pema Deleck, the Member of Parliament of Tibetan Govt. in Exile and Lakpa Tsering, the Settlement Officer read out the message issued by the Tibetan Parliament and the Tibetan Govt. in Exile to the big gathering on this occasion. Geleck Jugney, the Settlement Officer, proposed a vote of thanks.

Several Tibetan cultural programmes were also organised on this occasion.
