Tipper thieves arrested

Vehicle worth Rs.3 lakh recovered

Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police on Apr. 12, have arrested two persons on charges of stealing a tipper vehicle from Hinkal village near here on Apr.12 and have recovered the tipper worth about Rs.3 lakh from them.

The arrested have been identified as 40-year-old Manjunath of Vinayaka Nagar at Thithimathi, Virajpet taluk in Kodagu and 32-year-old Manjunath of Honnavar village, Nagamangala taluk in Mandya district.

Vijayanagar Police, who had registered a case, swung into action and caught the two accused along with the tipper on Jodi Tenginamara Road in Bannimantap here.

During interrogation, the accused, who are said to be drivers, have confessed of committing the crime for money.

DCP Mahaninga B. Nandaganvi and N.R. Sub-Division ACP Gopal supervised Vijayanagar Inspector P.N. Anilkumar, SI N. Ramachandra and staff S. Mahadev, Shankar, Eshwar, Swamaradhya, Sagar and C. Mahesh in the nabbing and recovery operation.
