Toccata musical evening in aid of Mission Hospital in city

Toccata Musical Productions, United Kingdom, along with Bangalore Children’s Chorous and guest artiste Frank Konie will present a musical event in aid of CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital, popularly known as Mission Hospital in Mysuru on Feb. 18. The event will be held at the Open Air Theatre, Manasagangothri from 7 pm.

The troupe will render songs sung by Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Sir Elton John, Queen and songs from music bands Abba and Eagles, among others. The event will raise funds for the hospital’s new Operation Theatre (OT) complex, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crore.

Mission Hospital needs a new OT complex as the existing one, built in 1907, is small and not full-fledged to cater to the needs of ever-increasing patients. Also, according to hospital authorities, there is a need to equip the hospital with modern gadgets to assist surgeons and anaesthetists. This requires additional space.

The new OT complex will have three floors including an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), post-operation ward and private wards. The hospital is also aiming to provide modern infrastructure such as wards, laboratories and areas for developing newer specialities and training.

Tickets for the musical evening are priced at Rs. 1,000, Rs. 500 and Rs. 200 and the tickets are available at www.bookmyshow.com.
