‘Tourism, hotel industry will be hit by simple Dasara’

August 22, 2019

Mysuru: Those who depend on tourism and hotels for their daily lives will be in trouble if this year’s Dasara is celebrated in a simple manner, felt scion of the royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.

He was speaking after inaugurating a free health check up camp for the Palace employees organised jointly by Mysore Palace Board and Private Hospitals at the Palace premises here on Tuesday.

It is said that due to the flood fury and the damage it has caused to the people in the State, Dasara celebrations in the city has been scaled down.

However, this step will affect tourism and hotel industries in the city. The Dasara celebrations should continue like it was being celebrated all these years, Yaduveer said.

The Dasara preparations will begin in the Mysore Palace after the Ganesha festival. The invitation will come to the Palace from the District Administration and then the official celebrations will begin, he said.

Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya and others were present.
