Trade Unions call for nationwide general strike on Mar. 28, 29

Mysore/Mysuru: The joint platform of Central Unions has called for a nationwide general strike on Mar.28 and 29 in protest against what it called the anti-worker, anti-farmer, anti-people and anti-national policies of the Union Government.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Wednesday,  AITUC District President N.K. Devadas said that the strike has been called to protest the Central Government policies which are badly hurting the common man. Pointing out that the strike has been called with cries of ‘Save the People and Save the Nation,’  he said various Trade Unions like INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC are taking part in the strike.

A demonstration will be held in front of DC’s Office at 11 am on Mar.28 and similar dharnas will take place simultaneously at all Taluk Headquarters. On Mar.29, a procession will be taken out from Gandhi Square at 11.30 am  following which a  demonstration will be staged at the Town Hall.
