Traditional Durbar ritual of Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhowma held in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Uttaradi Mutt’s Sri Satyatmateertha Sripada Swamiji has opined that Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhowma through his Dvaita philosophy sought the welfare of all living beings. He was speaking on the 6th day of a function organised  to commemorate Sahasra Chandra Darshana Shanti Mahotsav and Sriman Nyaya Sudha Mangala Mahotsav organised jointly by Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt and Sri Vyasatheertha Vidyapeeta at ‘Vittaladhama,’ J.P. Nagar in city recently.

Sri Satyatmateertha Swamiji also participated in the traditional Durbar religious programme, organised as part of the function.

“Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhowma propagated ‘Moksha Marga (path to salvation) in Dvaita Siddantha. The numerous religious programmes organised by him during his life time cannot be described in one’s lifetime. Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhowma spread the message of peace, tolerance, empathy and brotherhood through his Dvaita Siddantha. He was one among the highly respected scholars in the court of Sri Krishnadevaraya,” said Sri Satyatmateertha Sripada Swamiji.

Prior to stage programme, the idol of Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhowma was kept in traditional Durbar and a ‘Ratnabhisheka’ was offered in the presence of Sripadaraja Mutt’s Sri Sujayanidhi Teertha Sripada, Sri Kaaniyur Mutt’s Sri Vidyavallabha Sripada, junior pontiff of Sri Admar Mutt Sri Eshapriya Teertha Sripada and Sri Vidyarajeshwara  Teertha Sripada.

Ashakiran Hospital’s K.S.Gururaja, businessman H.R. Nagendrarao and senior journalist A.R. Raghuram were felicitated at the function. Retired High Court Judge P.S. Dinesh Kumar was also felicitated.

The idol of Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhowma was placed in a decorated chariot and taken in a procession from Akka Mahadevi Circle to Vittala Dhama. Bhajana Mandali women members sang devotional songs en route the procession. Art troupes like Nagari, Dollu Kunita, Huli Kunita, Devara Kunita and Kamsale accompanied the procession.
