Mysuru: Mysuru City Police conducted a traffic rules and road safety awareness programme for about 600 NCC Cadets at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya on Gaddige Road near Bogadi here recently.
VV Puram Traffic Sub-Inspector Gautham Gowda and NR Traffic Sub-Inspector Siddesh conducted awareness programme by explaining various traffic rules and regulations and road safety.
The Cadets were told about the need to follow traffic rules to save lives and not indulge in over-speeding, reckless riding or driving and drunk driving.
SI Siddesh said that indulging in such acts would not only hurt the vehicle drivers but also cause injuries to other public.
Advising the Cadets to follow traffic rules, he mentioned that in recent days, there was increase in cases related to helmetless riding, driving without seat belts, triple riding, riding on one-way, parking at No Parking Zone, signal jumping, wheeling on roads, alteration of silencers, riding or driving without DL, riding or driving by minors among others.
Similar programme was also held for the trainees at Human Resource Training Centre of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project at Kalasthavadi on Bengaluru -Mysuru Highway.
